We have this roomy horizontal version as well as a vertical version too and both feature front ventilation to provide increased airflow and they also pack flat to save you on shipping costs. Both styles do have the option for a screen top for extra lighting and heating if needed as well as a clear, 6 Inch substrate lips for a deeper substrate layer.

Not enough ventilation

Nice quality, no sharp edges. Easy to put together. Does have a large scratch on the back. Needs way more ventilation for the tank without the mesh. The mesh would have been to much ventilation for the high humidity I need so I opted for the one without. However the one without the screen has practically no ventilation so now I need to add my own.

Top a little flimsy, sags

It maybe because I got the screen top but the top panel seems thin and the top sags some. This cage doesn’t come with a center door brace like other brands (front doors meet in middle) so this could be also part of issue. Notice when put lights on top. Otherwise nice cage but worry if will deform more or if cat lands on top!

Thanks Tina and as its built with 1/2' PVC this design won't need a center brace and it won't sag :-)

Getting more!

I bought one with the screen top for one of my crested geckos to try them out. I love it, only wish I got the substrate shield on this one but will definitely will on the next ones I purchase.

Kenyan Sand Boa loves it

Quick question can I put a heat mat under the enclosure

Hi Joshua, you certainly can as long as you elevate the enclosure to allow for airflow around the mat but, it may be a better setup if you place the heat mat at the back or on one of the sides. This may also give your sand boa a better gradient too.

Substrate barrier gap

My only complaint is with the substrate barrier. There's a 1/4" L-shaped spacer between the acrylic substrate barrier and the front PVC panel—this is to accommodate the bolts on the door that would obstruct the substrate barrier without the spacer. Unfortunately, since the spacer is L-shaped instead of U-shaped, this leaves a 1/4" gap between the substrate barrier and the front panel on one side that substrate could easily fall through, and that's too open to just seal with more silicone.

I ended up using a scrap piece of silicone from another enclosure to resolve the issue, but it would be helpful if either the spacer spanned the full width of the enclosure, or if there was an optional additional piece of PVC that could be included to close that gap.

An alternative solution would be to have slightly shorter bolts and thinner nuts to secure the bottom hinge on the door so the acrylic can be mounted directly to the front panel. This would be preferred as it would reduce the space between the door and substrate barrier, reducing the likelihood of inhabitants getting stuck in that space.

Hi Jacquelyn, sorry about this glitch but glad that you were able to work around it. We just checked this issue and your enclosure had a shorter internal 1/2' strip inside that caused the gap. We have addressed this issue and have resolved this oversight, and greatly appreciate the feedback and images.
